Here at Zola, we’re seeking an exceptional Director or Senior Manager of Growth to lead our recently launched Zola Weddings business. 

Zola Weddings is a free, easy-to-use, beautiful suite of wedding planning tools to engaged couples.  This business is essentially a startup within a startup, and we’re looking for an entrepreneurial, scrappy, analytical, creative leader who can help grow this early-stage category into a huge one for Zola. 

Your ultimate goal as the business lead for Zola Weddings will be to exponentially grow the number of couples we’re serving, while developing and testing ways to increase their lifetime value.  With the big picture in mind, and a firm grasp on the details, you’ll execute on your strategy, anticipate and make trade-offs, identify and solve bottlenecks, and deliver an amazing customer experience while keeping the business needs in mind. 

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Owning the business strategy and annual plan for Zola Weddings
    • Developing the growth and monetization strategy
    • Building the annual plan and setting our KPI targets – and achieving them!
    • Analyzing and reporting on performance
  • Deeply understanding the customer and thinking creatively about how to serve them better
    • Conducting customer research and sharing learnings widely
    • Dissecting their frustrations with wedding planning and identifying ways to turn frustration into delight
    • Partnering with Marketing and Product to continuously improve customer retention
    • Collaborating with Product to identify new ways to delight the couple and turn those into new features or offerings
  • Leading the charge toward massive market share growth
    • Evangelizing for Weddings across the company
    • Iterating with Marketing on our marketing messaging and strategy
    • Identifying and pursuing key partnerships, with Business Development

Our ideal candidate has a track record of success at growing businesses, ideally at a tech or consumer startup.  You love both building and optimizing, and both strategizing and doing.  You are a structured and creative thinker, able to toggle easily between the big themes and the little details.  You are equally comfortable in Excel and Powerpoint, and you can prove your ability to learn new systems quickly.  And you love working with kind, smart colleagues who share a commitment to putting the customer first!

  • BA/BS; MBA strongly preferred
  • 6+ years of professional experience in a fast-paced environment working in growth, strategy, business operations, or a related field
    • Startup experience strongly preferred
    • Some management consulting experience preferred, but not required
    • PLEASE NOTE: Title will be commensurate with experience
  • Exceptional business and customer experience judgment
  • Creative, scrappy, and customer-obsessed
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; presents effectively to a senior audience
  • Excellent quantitative and Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage competing tasks in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment
  • Ability to build business relationships across functional teams
